    This was one of the first photographs I ever took.  Because I knew nothing about the technical aspects of photo editing, I regrettably deleted the raw files as they took up so much space.  I didn’t understand that having the original camera files would help me later. It was beginners luck really that I was able to be at the right place at the right time.  Years later, I saw the carriage driver taking another family of visitors on a tour but couldn’t approach him to ask his name because I was afraid of scaring the horse on the busy Nassau street and getting trampled.

    The humidity was stifling that day in early May.  My body was tired and my eardrums were sore from all the ambiance of the carnival.  I was experimenting with a cheap lens in poor condition that lacked any redeeming qualities.  Luckily, after walking around a bit in the heat, this opportunity came into frame.

    Throughout the Caribbean, and more widely, Commonwealth, police dress in their former British colonial era khakis or whites. This shot was taken during a brief respite from COVID lock down.

    Two women take to the ocean near the affluent area of Old Fort Bay.  They nervously looked at me taking photographs of everything, so I pretended to just be taking photographs of the rough tides.

    I think this man was taken by surprise to see me in street clothes with a cheap, off the shelf consumer-grade camera, so interested in him.  This was taken on West Bay Street along Saunder’s Beach.  I walked from the house to get this shot, as the roads had been blocked off by the police and parked cars filled every conceivable spot, including my neighborhood.
